This webinar is appropriate for children of all ages. The presentation addresses sexuality issues among children and young adults who are visually impaired and/or blind. It will include the need to establish early appropriate social and safe behaviors regarding the development of sexuality. Research will be presented on the need for sexuality education and direct instruction.
Topics to be covered include prevention and intervention for physical examinations, identifying body parts, teaching modesty, showering, menstruation, masturbation, and additional resources. This webinar is not designed to discuss various sexual education programs, rather topics to consider prior to formalized sex education.
