This webinar covered the concept of "Listening" in an educational context, specifically in the development of literacy skills. Participants discussed how the Listening strand of the Common Core Standards aligns with many state academic standards, and explore listening as a learning strategy for students with print disabilities, including sensory, cognitive, learning, and physical impairments. Through "audio supported reading," students can listen to learn, improve reading comprehension, and strengthen literacy skills.
This webinar also kick-off a moderated community of practice for Mentors through Bookshare's Google Group.
