About Yourself:

I am a teacher for students who are deaf and hard of hearing at Lincoln Public Schools.  I currently serve the community at a center based elementary school working with DHH students Kindergarten through 5th grade, managing intepreting staff, and co-teaching with my peers.  I also hold a certificate as a teacher for the visually impaired and I taught student with vision loss for 8 years prior to returning to the field of deaf education.  While working with students with vision loss I became intrigued with students with cortical visual impairments and began studying in this field every opportunity I could get.  I attend conferences and trainings, read text books, and meet with colleagues to discuss this field.  I have been known to have conversations at my church about this topic as it is so interesting to me!

My family includes a husband, two daughters, a grandson, two dogs, and a fish.  We are finally in our dream home and enjoy projects in our spare time to make our home a better place to live.  I enjoy crafting, crocheting, and camping.
