I am a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments working on the Kansas side of Kansas City. My experience with CVI is primarily in the birth to preschool age range. Few of these children have come to my caseload with the diagnosis of CVI but it becomes very quickly clear from their functional use of vision that they are having issues with processing visual information. To support their development, I have, over the years, added tools to my teacher toolbox to address the specific needs of these learners. I believe that teachers, too, are always learning, and I came to the range with a desire to learn how to be more strategic in my interventions to better support the visual needs of children with CVI.
