'Tell Me' Feature: Outlook 2016 and JAWS

The Ribbon contains the most frequently used tabs typically located at the top of your Microsoft Office applications.  When using a screen reader, such as JAWS, navigating through the Ribbon can be tedious.  In Outlook 2016, there is a new feature called, 'Tell Me' that enables JAWS users to quickly indicate what task the user wants to accomplish.  

'Tell Me' Directions

  • When in Outlook, press ALT+Q to bring up the Tell Me textbox window.
  • Type in the the desired task.  
  • Use the down arrow to move through the list of results.  
  • Press Enter to select the task or press Escape to close this edit textbox window.
