Microsoft uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a research project to help people with visual impairments and blindness to better understand who and what is around them. The app is designed to run on a smartphone in collaboration with special smart glasses. The tiny camera that is built-in to the glasses can identify people and objects and a digital voice relays the information to the user. In the video, the app describes the gender, age and facial expression of the people sitting around the table.
