Indoor Navigation: App Boost for Blind

Sanderson Center for the Performing Arts in Brantford Ontario has installed iBeacons throughout the theatre to enable users with visual impairments to navigate independently.  Tess, a 17 year old cane traveler, skillfully led a fast-paced tour through the Sanderson Center.  Through her iPhone running the BlindSquare app, Tess and her friends listened to the announcements of aisles and seats, stairs, exits and important details within the restrooms.
