Canute is the first "Kindle for the Blind" is a multi-line digital braille e-reader. It will provide nine lines of text with forty characters per line - for about the same cost as a Perkins Brailler! The Canute will turn text downloaded from a memory stick into braille. Currently the Canute is 14" square and 2.5 inches thick. The Canute is expected to go on sale by the end of the year.
