Using the Writing Wizard app with students who are low vision and have CVI

Use this engaging app to improve your students letter recognition and handwriting skills!

The Writing Wizard app is an early education app that is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store.  Writing Wizard is a systematic, highly customizable way to teach children how to trace symbols, letters, numbers, and simple words.  It also has a feature that allows you to generate your own printable large print tracing sheets.  At the time of this post there is both a free version and a paid $4.99 version.

This app was originally posted in January 2019. Writing Wizard now allows imported word lists from text files and from the Web. Writing Wizard is also a favorite app for teachers working with students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. This app also works with a digital pencil such as the Apple Pencil. Create users then track each student’s progress!
