This tutorial explores the work of the Maryland Braille Task Force and the development of the Maryland Common Core State Curriculum Frameworks for Braille. These frameworks for English/Language Arts and Mathematics identify the braille skills by grade level that are needed for access to the Common Core. These skills include: braille contractions, punctuation, and other symbols in the literary code, Braille signs for formatting, Nemeth Code, and tactile graphics.
Participants will earn 1.5 Professional Development Points, ACVREP, CTLE, or Continuing Education credits by completing an online quiz.
