Accessible Science is designed to help TVIs provide effective support for students with visual impairments to develop skills in all areas of Science education. Through a variety of online presentations, readings, research and hands-on activities, course participants will gain an understanding of the scope of Science education and skills to facilitate interactions with students and their Science instructors. Participants will develop problem solving skills and create a variety of low cost, low tech adaptations. In addition, course participants will learn about technology to create accessible materials, as well as technologies that students with visual impairments can use to carry out STEM activities with increasing independence.
Starting Date: December 7, 2020 - 2 weeks online, asynchronous
This course is offered at no cost; Workshop Registration is required and limited to 25 participants
Credits: 10 or 15 PDP’s, ACVREP’s, or Continuing Ed. Hours
10 credits for attendance only
5 additional credits for completion of a Final Project
