I've taught students with CVI for decades, but did not have my first training until I was a Parent Advisor through the Georgia DOE 8 years ago. I had a baby's parent who told me about "Little Bears Sees" book and I purchased this book and Roman's book and began learning about what I could do to benefit my students/babies. I took a day long training through the GA DOE. I began in Fulton Schools 4 years ago as a TVI. I was the only TVI who had had CVI training and I became the school system "expert." I began to receive requests from my colleagues to assist them with CVI Range evaluations. This further motivated me to increase my knowledge. I felt confident in my knowledge until I took the Perkins course this past fall and learned I had so much more to learn. I've had the opportunity to participate in dozens of CVI Range evaluations in my school system and through Georgia PINES. As an itinerant teacher I have implemented and seen the rewards of accommodations for students with CVI.
