I currently work for Educational Services for the Visually Impaired with the state of Arkansas. I have been in this position for 13 years. In this capacity, I travel to numerous school districts to assist any way I can with students that have a visual impairment. The needs very at each school ranging from consulting, hands on, training, advocating, etc. I provide the districts, teachers, and parents with the information needed for the student. There are several CVI students on my caseload currently. Most all of them are Phase I and Phase II. Most of my hands on experience has been working with Phase I and Phase II students. I work as closely as I can to provide needed information about CVI and the techniques needed for each child. I also help adapt materials as needed. Our agency also provides workshops for teachers across the state. Prior to this position, I was a self-contained teacher in Texas and Arkansas.
I am available to:
Provide ongoing, direct service to a child with CVI within 50 miles of my home address
Provide ongoing consultation and technical assistance to an educational team working with a child with CVI
Provide one time evaluation services and consultation
