As an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired for North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind, I’ve had numerous opportunities to work with individuals ages 0-21 with the diagnosis of Cortical Visual Impairment. During my 20-year career, I’ve developed my professional knowledge of CVI by attending workshops, webinars and taking on-line classes. My first workshop with Dr. Roman was in 2004, and last summer, I heard her at the 2019 Summer Institute: CVI – Education Strategies: Cortical Visual Impairment: Education Strategies – Phase II & III in Maryland.
At NDVS/SB, we work with schools and other agencies collaboratively to assess students using Dr. Roman’s CVI Range Assessment and provide recommendations based on this assessment. We support families, school staff and other agencies with CVI training.
