Assistant Education Director, Secondary Program, Perkins School for the Blind
I work as the Assistant Education Director for Community Programs at Perkins School for the Blind supporting teachers working with school age students. My first exposure to CVI was during NE/AER 2005. Not too long after that Linda Collins and Ellen Mazel presented to my department. I have attended many presentations since 2005 including those by Dr. Christine Roman. During the summer of 2016 I took Perkins eLearning CVI course with Dr. Roman. During the 2016-17 school year I attended a year-long training through Perkins presented by Dr. Roman. In 2017 I attended a two-day workshop with Sandy Newcomb. Most recently, when attending NE/AER 2017, I attended multiple workshops on the topic of CVI. My hands on experience includes working with children 0-16, administering the CVI Range (Roman-Lantzy 2007) and implementing program planning related to those results. More recently I have experience supporting teachers as they learn how to administer the CVI Range as well as assisting in report writing.
