I have been a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments for the last 5 years. In that time, I have had the privilege of working with students from birth to the age of 17 who have a diagnosis of Cortical Visual Impairment in all 3 phases, their families, and their educational teams. I have worked with parents and student educational teams in understanding the CVI range, implementing strategies and programming. In 2016, I was invited to join the CVI Work Group at the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind and Visually Impaired. In this group we collaborate with other colleagues in the group, provide assistance to other vision professionals in the state of Nebraska, and research all aspects of CVI. I have attended the PCVI conference in Omaha in 2017 and 2018, I plan to attend again this year. I continue to expand my knowledge of CVI through professional studies, collaboration with other TVI's, as well as attending workshops and conferences.
