Experience: I have been a classroom teacher, Learning Resource teacher and school administrator. I truly enjoy working with students with special needs and their families. I took Masters of Education classes through Mount St. Vincent University to become a teacher of the visually impaired. During a year of mentorship and throughout my practicum I worked with students who had Cortical Visual Impairment. I was truly fascinated and wanted to learn more. Since completing my masters in 2017 I have conducted a number of CVI assessments and have taken additional courses. I feel that there is always more to learn and am excited to delve into best practices and current research. I am currently working with children from age 1 through school age. I enjoy working with the children, parents and school staff to provide support and guidance as the children develop their visual skills.
