Use this greatly enlarged, vibrantly colored model to study the structure of a typical animal cell. Significant structures within the cell are shown in raised relief, both in full form and in cross section, but cannot be removed from the cell model. These structures include the nucleus, basal membrane, collagen fibers, mitochondria, lysosomes, Golgi apparatus, microvilli, and the smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum. The full cell model can be removed from the base that depicts adjacent monochromatic animal cells. Size, 21 x 11 x 31 cm.
The size of this model allows students to visually and/ or tactually observe the features of the cell.
It is a durable model and has been dropped in my classroom many times with only minimal damage.
Several of the features of the cell are difficult to differentiate tactually.
The parts of the cell cannot be removed from the model.
