This presentation focuses on the various literacy adaptations, accommodations, and strategies used in classrooms for children who are deafblind.

This tutorial focuses on the various literacy adaptations, accommodations, and strategies used in classrooms for children who are deafblind. Sectioned off into four categories, the presenters will focus on the types of vision loss (total blindness, low vision, CVI) and the use of the appropriate materials. Literacy formats will include story boxes with concrete objects, tactile books, and additional accommodations and strategies. A multitude of examples of created materials will be displayed, as well as creation tips for the audience to take away to their designated area of focus.

Participants will earn 1.5 Professional Development Points, ACVREP, CTLE, or Continuing Education credits by completing an online quiz. By registering for Professional Development Points, ACVREP, CTLE, or Continuing Education credits, you will be provided with a self-paced tutorial using video clips and other resources related to this topic, as well as an online test to assess your knowledge.
