The classic LEGO bricks have now gone Hi-Tech in the classroom!  Built on Common Core and state English Language Arts Standards, LEGO Education StoryStarter is a combination of LEGO kits, curriculums, and software designed to help kick-start creativity and to boost reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.  With StoryStarter students work together to create and build stories with LEGO bricks and figures, then using the unique Story Visualizer software, students photograph, write and publish their digital stories.

Learn how LEGO Education StoryStarter, a hands-on literacy tool that inspires students to collaborate while creating and communicating stories, can enhance your classroom!  The video below is a teacher's experience of using LEGO Education StoryStarter in her classroom.

The LEGO Education Story Visualizer app brings the LEGO Education StoryStarter creations to life. The video below is a tutorial that demonstrates how this software works.  Story Visualizer enables students to present their stories and ideas in a visual format.

The LEGO Story Visualizer app is available for PC/Mac and iOS/Android.

Be sure to check out LEGO Education's Science and Computing curriculums called WeDo 2.0.

Go to the LEGOs Education website for information on more LEGOs Education topics, such as MoreToMath, Early Simple Machines, LearnToLearn, and more.  There are kits and curriculums for preschool, elementary school and middle school students along with Afterschool and Homeschool.  There are even LEGO competitions!

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is a program where students create and command robots that walk, talk, think and do anything you can possibly imagine!  Grab the enclosed remote control or download the free app and command your robot from your device. The new EV3 Programmer App makes building and programming your robots faster, smarter and more fun than ever!

Accessibility

LEGOs are a hands-on tool.  Currently, the LEGOs building instructions are only available in picture format - all visual without text.  However, these directions could be  converted into text.  See the Paths to Technology post LEGOs in Education for hints on how to assist students with visual impairments and blindness to successfully and independently create LEGO structures.  Also take a look at how Matthew's pictorial LEGO directions were carefully converted into written directions.  If you convert the directions into text, please share the written directions on Paths to Technology!

Currently, the LEGO apps are not accessible with a screen reader.  Want to contact LEGO with accessibility concerns? Here is the LEGO Contact page.
