How to Share a Strategy

We invite you to share activities and strategies for students who are blind or visually impaired. This page will take you through the steps of the process to create an actual strategy post.  If you would like more information about the type of credit you will receive, and how credits are determined, please see the rubric for successful activity submission.

Step 1:
You must be logged in in order to create a post, having completed your user profile and registered. Once that is done, go to share a activity

Step 2
Choose a title or name for your activity or strategy and write an overview in the description box.  All fields marked with a red asterisk are required.

Step 3
Add a bulleted list of materials, procedure, and variations.

Step 4
Check the box next to the subject that best relates to your strategy.  You may check more than one box.  This is a required field.

Step 5
Upload an image relating to Strategy:  Choose a photo that represents your activity.  This can be a photo of the materials or of a student doing the activity.  If the photo shows a student, you must submit a release form signed by the student’s parents.  Download the release form. This is a required field.  Please be sure to add alternate text describing the photo for individuals using screen readers.

You may also add a URL, such as a link to the website of products that are part of the activity.  This field is optional.

You may wish to include a video of the strategy in action.  Please remember that release forms need to be submitted for any images showing students.  Videos must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and then you can link to it there.  This field is optional.

Step 6
Click "Publish" or "Save as Draft" at the bottom of the page.  Choose the "Save as Draft" option if you have not finished creating the post and would like to return to finish it later.  Choose "Publish" when you are all finished  You will receive an automatically-generated message thanking you for your post.  After the site administrators have had a chance to review your strategy and it has met the criteria for an acceptable post, you will receive a certificate with the number of credits you have received printed on it.
