This tutorial addresses sexuality issues among children and young adults who are visually impaired and/or blind. It will include the need to establish early appropriate social and safe behaviors regarding the development of sexuality. Topics covered include prevention and intervention for physical examinations, identifying body parts, teaching modesty, showering, menstruation, masturbation, and additional resources.
This is not designed to discuss various sexual education programs, rather topics to consider prior to formalized sex education. Participants will earn 1.5 ACVREP, CTLE credits, or Continuing Education credits by completing an online quiz.
By registering for ACVREP, CTLE credits, or Continuing Education credits, you will be provided with a self-paced tutorial using video clips and other resources related to this topic, as well as an online test to assess your knowledge.
