Indoor Modified Football: Activity 5 Passing Play

The following is part of a series of 6 different activities related to football. These activities have been completed by students at Perkins School.

The following is part of a series of 6 different activities related to football, designed to be played indoors on a replica football field.  These activities have been modified for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with deafblindness or multiple disabilities.

Materials

Procedure

  1. For this activity targets are set up using bowling pins on the edge of the wedge mat.
  2. The center hikes the ball through his/her legs to the quarterback who turns his/her body to the side they throw with and laterally takes 3 three steps back. The quarterback then throws the football toward the set up targets at far end of turf.
  3. The center may also hike the ball laterally instead of through the legs.
  4. Have students familiarize themselves with location of targets and provide a verbal cue or sound source at targets if preferred.
