Student with Visual Impairments Discusses Space Camp

TSBVI high school student, Mikkah, discusses her experiences at Space Camp in an interview with her science teacher, Laura Hospitál.

TSBVI high school student, Mikkah, discusses her experiences at Space Camp in an interview with her science teacher, Laura Hospitál.  She thoroughly enjoyed her Space Camp experience and would recommend it for other students with visual impairment.

Mikkah attended the Space Academy at Space Camp.  She highlights the new experiences she had at Space Camp, including scuba diving in the first video, as well as the people she met from around the U.S. and the world.

In the second video, MIkkah talks about the various simulated missions that she had the opportunity to participate in.  She gives a detailed description of the Delta Mission and her work on solving anomalies which were presented to the group. These anomalies were a simulation of something going wrong on the shuttle or ISS Space Station, according to Mikkah.  Mikkah also speaks of the rewarding team-bulding experiences at Space Camp in the second video, including overcoming the chocolate candy cane river with her 13-member team.

In the third video, Mikkah is asked about whether she will continue to stay in contact with the friends she met at Space Camp.  The interview concludes with a description of the greatest challenge Mikkah faced during her exciting week at Space Camp.

Not only did MIkkah find Space Camp to be a challenging growth experience, she also had a GREAT time!
